This Privacy Policy describes how Couple Connect ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Couple Connect is intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and older in consenting relationships.
1. Age Requirement (18+)
Couple Connect is an adult-only application. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will take steps to delete their account and associated data.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Room codes, partner pairing data, and role preferences you provide when connecting with your partner.
- User-generated content (UGC): Messages, media, challenge responses, and other content you and your partner create within the app.
- Device information: Device type, operating system, app version, and push notification tokens for delivering alerts.
- Usage data: Basic analytics such as feature usage and crash reports to improve stability.
- Biometric data: Biometric authentication is processed locally on your device. We do not store your fingerprint or face data on our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Enable partner pairing and in-app features (challenges, chat, notifications).
- Deliver end-to-end encrypted messaging between you and your partner.
- Send push notifications about partner activity (e.g., new challenges or messages).
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Firebase & Third-Party Services
Couple Connect uses Google Firebase for authentication, cloud messaging, and data storage. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's privacy practices. Data processed through Firebase may include account identifiers, message metadata, and UGC necessary to provide the Service.
We may also use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications and Firebase-related infrastructure for secure data sync. For more information, see Firebase Privacy Information.
5. End-to-End Encryption
Partner chat messages are encrypted end-to-end. This means message content is encrypted on your device and can only be decrypted by you and your partner. We cannot read the content of your encrypted messages.
6. User-Generated Content
Content you create in the app (messages, photos, videos, challenge responses) is stored to provide the Service to you and your partner. You are responsible for the content you share. Do not share content involving non-consenting individuals or anyone under 18.
You may request deletion of your account and associated UGC by contacting us at the email below.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account or request data removal, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure Firebase rules, and device-level biometric locks. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, through Firebase and related cloud infrastructure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
